Sultanate of Oman has joined the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirements of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents as of January 30, 2012. The convention has come into force in Oman as of January 30, 2012. Consequent to this accession to the said convention, international clients of member states are no longer required to have the supporting documents, i.e. Power of Attorney and Certificate of Incorporation, legalized up to the Omani Consulate in the point of origin. Instead such documents may only be sealed with an Apostil seal. The Omani Trademark Office will accept such document after verifying the authenticity of the seal and signature of the member state concerned.
